Mr. Corey Norman, LPC
Hello! As a Licensed Professional Counselor (IL #178016792), I am dedicated to helping others grow and heal. Entering the field of mental health was an easy decision once I saw the benefits of therapy in the lives of those close to me and throughout my own journey. Ultimately, I want to be someone who can listen, understand, encourage, support, and challenge you or those you love.
Most of my experience includes working with adolescents, teens, and young adults. The therapeutic modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My approach is not about simply giving advice but about helping clients uncover their own strengths and ability to overcome challenges. I view each person holistically, considering their cognitive, physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual needs.
Originally from the Peoria area, I earned my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and later moved to Colorado to pursue my graduate degree. Before becoming a counselor, I served in the U.S. Air Force as both a medic and in occupational safety, experiences that deepened my respect for resilience and service.
Outside of work, I love music, hiking, gaming, spending time outdoors, sharing great meals with friends, watching sports (Go Irish and Cubs!), and enjoying life with my wife and kids.
If you are considering therapy, know that the hardest step is often the first one. The fact that you are here means you have already started. Celebrate that and build from there.
Sincerely,
