Dr. Amber Hays
Hello and welcome! I am honored to be part of the THRIVE team as a Licensed Psychologist (IL #071.022589 and MN #LP7295) and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. With over fifteen years of experience working with children and adolescents in school and clinical settings, I am passionate about understanding each child’s unique developmental profile and helping families gain clarity, confidence, and practical tools to support their child’s growth.
I provide comprehensive psychological evaluations and therapy for youth with a wide range of academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. I have specialized expertise in both early childhood development and autism spectrum disorders, and I enjoy conducting thorough evaluations that help families better understand their child’s strengths and needs while providing meaningful, individualized recommendations. I also love working with children and teens who experience anxiety and perfectionism, supporting them in building flexibility, resilience, confidence, and self-compassion.
My toolbox includes a variety of evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, social thinking, and collaborative problem solving. I take a thoughtful and compassionate approach, prioritizing careful listening and creating a calm, supportive environment where my clients feel seen, understood, and comfortable. I strive to create an empowering space where children and adolescents feel capable and encouraged and where families feel informed every step of the way.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy reading, musical theater, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, and felines.
I look forward to partnering with you and your family to help your child develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to truly THRIVE.
Best Wishes,
